Porcelain Fused to Metal

Porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) restorations are still the most prescribed restorative treatment alternative to date. Offering several different types of metals with which to fabricate the substructure, Eclipse Dental Inc. readily provides clinicians with a wide variety of PFM crowns and bridges. Porcelain margins are recommended to dramatically improve the aesthetic result by enabling natural light to penetrate at the gingival margins. The PFM restorations appear so natural, they rival some of the most innovative restorative options available.

Types of PFM Available

The Captek Coping, for crowns and 3-unit bridges, have been proven to be exceptionally strong and durable, making it ideal for long span bridge and implants. The physical properties of the advanced gold material are derived from the patented reinforcing internal structure of Captek. This structure is designed to reduce the stress between the porcelain and Captek gold. You may overlay any type of metal ceramics to Captek.

VITA’s NEW VM®13 ceramic veneering porcelain offers outstanding physical properties, handling characteristics and, due to the homogeneous distribution of both glass phases in the fine microstructure, clinical wear characteristics that mimic those of enamel.
